Yet another favorite post, but I hope it will raise your interest towards these online zines!:)
Just to make things clear for those who don't know what zines are: these are cheaply-made online or disseminated photocopied magazines by a small non-profit group. They feature alternative manifestations of different artforms (animation, music, fashion, applied arts, etc.). It has become a hobby for me to read them in the last few years, and these are the ones I got to like the most:
Twin Factory is a daily update on fashion, performances, campaigns,etc., but they don't write about topics you would find on any news portal. This group focuses attention on yet not so well-known artists and exploring afreshly female perspectives and intellectual attitudes. It is inspiring on the whole its design and photography, on which buffs' (just like the editors) are working. It is the alternative side of Vogue, free, accessible for everyone on the internet, but they also publish twice a year a booklike issue.
Just as the name shows, it features and voices rebellious manifestations in art, pop culture, fashion and also details autochthonous Hungarion designs, events, such as the latest Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Budapest, on the 1st April (which by the way was extraordinary according to the instagram stories I saw). Their printed magazin is eponym, a rebelzine, but they post for the most part on the blog. Unfortunately, they don't write in English, but their instagram is worth following.
This is the first zine I started to read. The name comes from Pesti Stílus, that means Style of Pest. The themes are from the urban life and differ, each writing is imaginative and authentic. It seems as if they were present at any event, launch, etc. They critizise fashion trends, Victoria's Secret, inequality and they also write various reviews, from which movie ones are the very best. My favorite post by far is the Sound like PS, where they pair up artists, Hungarian design houses with pieces of music, but not mainstream.

Egy újabb kedvences bejegyzés áll rendelkezésetekre, hogy elolvassátok, remélve, hogy fel tudom kelteni az érdeklődéseteket a zine-ok irányába!:)
Talán nem árt fényt deríteni a zine szó jelentésére, hogyha valaki talán nem tudná mi az: olcsón elkészített online vagy nyomtatott verzióban terjesztett magazin/folyóirat, melyet egy kisebb nem kereskedelmi célú csoport szerkeszt. Leginkáb művészeti formák (animáció,zene, divat, iparművészet,stb.) alternatív megnyilvánulásairól írnak. A zine-olvasás szinte már hobbimmá vált az elmúlt években, most pedig összegyűjtöttem azokat, amelyeket a leginkább megszerettem:
1.Twin

A Twin naponta van frissítve, ami a divatot, kampányokat, előadásokat,stb. illeti, de nem olyan témákban írnak, olyan megközelítésből, amelyről te bármelyik hírportálon olvashatsz. A csapat nem annyira ismert művészekre is fókuszál és felfedezi számunkra mindig újra a női nézőpontokat , attitűdöket. Egészében inspiráló, a látványvilágán dolgozók, akárcsak a szerkesztők, profik. Ez talán a Vogue egy alternatívabb változatához hasonlítható, mely online ingyenesen bárkinek elérhető, míg évente kiadnak két könyvformájú számot.
2.DESIGNISSO
This is the alternative forum of the Moholy Nagy University's student community, from Budapest. It gives insight into the university projects, student life and different artistic point of views. It is manifold, there are eight different tags, the eight courses on design, animation, architecture, textile, graphics, photography, media design, design theory offered by the university. You choose the one you are the most interested in. It is good to see this side of the uni, especially if you are thinking of taking up courses in this field (just like me) . If not so,it is still useful to broaden your horizon of thingking and perceptibility, the way you do, think and love. They have a tumblr page as well and it is good to mention, that is billingual, so that for English speakers it is accessable.

A Moholy Nagy Művészeti Egyetem (Budapest) diákközösségének alternatív fóruma. Betekintést nyújt az egyetemi projektekbe, különböző művészi megközelítésekbe.A témák változatosak, nyolc fül van, s mindenik az egyetem szakjainak megfelelően: animáció, építészet, textil, grafika, fotógráfia, media design, művészet elmélet. Kiválaszhatod, hogy melyik témában szeretnél is olvasni. Jó látni az egyetemnek ezen oldalát, főleg, ha hasonló szakokon szeretnél továbbtanulni (akárcsak én) . Ha pedig mégsem, praktikus, hiszen szélesítheti látóköröd és befogadóképességed. Tumblr lapja is van és említésre méltó az is, hogy hozzáférhető az angol nyelvet beszélőknek is a weboldal.

Ahogyan a név is mutatja, lázadó megmutatkozásokról írnak a pop
kultúrában, művészetekben, divatban és magyar design eseményeket
kommentál, mint például az utolsó Mercedez Benz Divathét Budapesten,
melyre április elsején került sor és elképesztő volt ( az instagram
sztorik alapján, amiket láttam). Nyomtatott magazinuk neve azonos, egy
úgymond rebelzine az, de túlnyomórészt online posztolnak
bejegyzéseket.Csupán magyarul írnak a blogra, de ha valaki nem beszélne
magyarul, attól még megéri az instagramjukat követni. A bejegyzések
rövidek, velősek, kellemes inspirációforrások, nem engedik elveszteni az
érdeklődést. A blog saját tote/vászonszatyrokat is piacra dobott,
melyeken ötletes, rebellis szövegek vannak, mint például: On wendesdays we smash patriarchy.
Ugyanakkor, üzleti alapú továbbgondolása is van,
segítséget,szolgáltatásokat nyújtva különböző körökben (erről a
REBELMEDIA fülben olvashattok részletesebben).

Ez az első zine, amit elkezdtem olvasni. A név a Pesti Stílus kezdőbetűiből jön. Sokrétű témákat dolgoznak fel, úgyhogy mindenik írásuk hitelesre és egyedire sikerül. Úgy tűnik, mintha egyszerűen mindenhol jelen lennének. Bírálják a különböző trendeket, a Victoria's Secret-et, a jogegyenlőtlenséget és írnak ajánlókat is, melyek közül a film a kedvencem. A cikksorozat, amelyet leginkább kedvelek, pedig a Sound like PS,melyben alkotók munkáihoz kevésbé mainstream zeneszámokat párosítanak.
