Her Little Promises

Fashion, traveling-aka sharing all the little promises made for myself, with anyone who stumbles over this blog

An awful lot of things happened to me in 2017. It was my favorite year so far, even if I had to neglect my blog. But why is that it was my favorite year? First of all, I attended my very first fashion week. Secondly, I became journalist at uptostyle.co. And I had the happiest moments in my life so far, I had never thought before that I can be this happy until the moment I was dancingly jumping in the kitchen.:D What's more, I am slowly realizing what I really want to do with my life, which is the most important thing. So, it was a productive year.

I'm wishing you a nice new year and keep reading my blog in 2018 too!:)
*****
Először is, részt vettem életem első divathetén.

It's the most beautiful time of the year and I decided to bring you a special Christmas edition of what we call here Blogger Lookout. This time the interviewee is Raluca, from libelulu.ro. She is from Romania, a pure observer, thinker and photographer of what is going on around her and then writes it down for her readers. On her blog has such subheadings as: I give gifts, I decorate, I live, I observe and Inspiration.
If this introduction got your interest, go ahead with reading the whole Q&A, accompanied with a warm bevarage. And don't forget to feel christmassy, because in Decemeber you have the right to! :D
  •  How and when did you start your "blogging career" ?
Haha, I wouldn’t call it a career. Me and blogging have a long story, since I started my first blog in 2007-2008 to nurture my passion for photography and showcase my photos. Afterwards I had a lot of blogs opened and closed, mostly without readers.

If we are talking about the blog today, it took this shape 4 years ago, when I attended an interior design course. The look and feel as it is now appeared last year, in September. It was a natural evolution, I kept improving it since 2014 until today.

  •  The best part of your blog content I like to read are the travel blogposts. But my question is.... What was your most beloved place you have already visited so far and which town would you visit in this festal December period?
It’s a tie between Rome, Amsterdam and Vienna. I do not think I am able to pick one with all my heart, but let’s say with half mouth that it would be Rome. Been there several times and still did not get bored of it.
As for which one I’d visit…any Scandinavian city, I really want some snow!

  • Where do you live and what are the places you would recommand people to visit in your own city  at this time of the year?
I’d recommend a walk on Bucharest’s big boulevards with a warm coffee or tea and some mulled wine afterwards.

  • Where do you buy (if you don't do it yourself) christmas decorations from?
I was pretty disappointed by the offer I saw so far this year. I bought a STRÅLA table lamp from IKEA, but that’s all until now. I created an arrangement as I did last year (I have a DIY article on that topic).
I still have a debate if I should have a Christmas tree in my apartment as well or not (I spend my holidays in my hometown).

  • Which is your favorite christmassy coffee flavour and where do you buy it from?
I try to stay away from coffee flavors, I like my coffee dark. But as a Christmas flavor in general, I have a weakness for gingerbread.

  •  I like the "I cannot cook" part of your blog, especially not being a big chef de cuisine. But are you planning to prepare a more like christmassy dish in the near future?
It’s a really good idea, I don’t know why it did not cross my mind until now. This year for sure will not make it in my editorial plan, it is stuffed with gift-related articles.

Maybe I’ll squeeze one related to table setting :)

  • I strongly believe that everybody has a favorite Christmas or winter movie and playlist/song. I am very nosey to know which are your picks.
I am very bad at picking movies, so I always end up looking at Love actually. Cheesy, I know. As for winter songs, I simply pick randomly a playlist and let it run.

Since a very long time this has been the first blogpost the topic of which was inspired by my immediate environment, a fairly new trend that has been shaking up the bag trends. But what kind of bag is this? Belt bag!Just to set the record straight: these are not the belt bags worn at festivals, much as they can be made in indie style with fringes and all of those things.
Although, its name is not necessarily connected to its function. Which means, according this new trendwave, you don't have to wear it like a belt, rather like a crossbody. Exactly the way as shown in the pictures below, in case of a Nanushka bag, which is on the nose manufactured and due to the fact that the leather is matt, it's easy to match it with your clothes. Here I have to mention that Nanushka is a Hungarian brand, moreover, it is highly preferred my French women and it was a whole article dedicated to their work in Vogue. This doesn't happen to every fashion brand.
Turning back to belt bags... The Nanushka Lubo belt bag -let's say- that is medium-priced, because, I'm sure that to your biggest surprise too, a lot of big design houses have belt bags in their collections. Let's name a few: Miu Miu, Valentino, Gucci and Chanel, although these are mostly seasonal. Even so, I have found in fast fashion webshops too, in case you were getting worried. One of which I found was a black, quite slim, bag with an even slimmer strap. The color black is thouroughly good choice, as always.

Let's just tell you more about how can you customize it. I advise you to wrap yourself  in long and maxi pieces of clothing, if you decide to wear it like a belt. Because if you wear it this way with a short jacket -for example- it can optically downplay your hips and cut your figure in two outstanding halves. Nonetheless, there are two oversized coat types I wouldn't prefer seeing it with: one is parkas, the other one is faux fur. It is horrifying for me to imagine this combo! However, if you go for wearing it like a crossbody or a shoulder bag, you can be dressed freely -for instance- in a short puffer jacket or a blazer.  In case you are very busy, with a long to-do-list, running around the town, you can wear two bags, one of which is a belt bag. This can look very chic with an oversized tote bag or shoulder bag, like an IKEA or a Balenciaga bag.

Personally, I would wear  it with a long jumpsuit or if I was to customize it as a crossbody, I would pick my mom jeans with a simple shirt, this outfit being completed with a beret or a newsboy hat. :D

Hope you liked this fashion blogpost, because I'm planning to do more of these in the near future! See you soon and don't forget to act  fashionable all day, to impress everyone around you with your self-confidence!:)
