A Little Jaunt
I have always been wondering whether traveling can count as a hobby, because I definitely adore traveling, discovering new places, absorbing in me as many new things as I'm capable of. But there are people who fly from one point of the world to another and they spend all their life on the road, and not like going on vacation. A lot of people like going on holiday, but that doesn't imply the fact that they are travel fanatics. Here I am not referring to businessmen, I'm talking, to some degree, about travel bloggers, geoscientists, etc. I'm fairly any of these. Having said that, I'm still bemused by this Q. Anyway, one thing I know is that I like traveling, so here comes a short report and the photographs I made during my journey.
Our first stop was Nagybánya, which is a lovely little town. There's not much to do, but it has some hidden treasures. For example, a tiny antique shop in the main square. There are also a lot of cafés and restaurants, one of which we tried out: Log Out. It didn't prove to be a disappointment, the dishes and the coffee were all delicious.

Mindig azon rágódtam, hogy az utazgatás nevezhető-e hobbynak, mivel én nagyon szeretek új helyeket felfedezni és minél több új dolgot magamba szívni. De vannak olyan emberek, akik egyik pontból a másikba repülnek és az egész életüket az úton töltik, de mégse nyaralni mennek. Hiszen sok ember szeret kikapcsolódni és vakációra menni, de ez nem azt jelenti, hogy az utazás fanatikusai. Nem üzletemberekre gondolok, inkább bloggerekre, geológusokra,stb. Kétségkívül nem tartozok közéjük, de még mindig izgat ez a kérdés. Akármi is legyen, szeretek utazgatni és most egy kisebb beszámolót és képeket hoztam az egyik utamról.
Az első célpont Nagybánya volt, amely egy kedves kis csendes városka. Nem ajánl sok lehetőséget, de aki keres, az talál. Például, egy antik boltot a főterén. Még sok vendéglő és beülős hely van ott, amelyek közül ki is próbáltuk a Log Out-ot. Nem volt csalódás, a kávé és az ételek is ínycsiklandónak bizonyultak.
We went up the Stephen tower and this little clamber -with a beautiful view on the top- was for no payment. After that came my favorite and long-awaited part: the Art Gallery. I was very excited, because back in time there was a famous art camp with a famous artist colony, in Nagybánya. This camp was well-known for developing the plein air concept, the artists that worked there are the most renowned ones in the Hungarian and Romanian art history. I saw paintings by Ferenczy Károly, Hollósy Simon, Czóbel Béla, Hans Mattis Teutsch, but I have discovered new artists too, such as Aurel Popp, Eugen Pascu, Mikola András, Ipolit Strambu and Ziffer Sándor. There's a huge collection of art works, but to my greatest regret and surprise, they have an even bigger collection which is not displayed, gathering dust somewhere...

Felmentünk a Szent István toronyba, ahonnan remek kilátás nyílt a városra, és mindezért semmit sem kellett fizetnünk. Ezután jött a várva várt és a legkedvencebb részem: a Szépművészeti Múzeum. Sokat áhítoztam már róla, mivel régen Nagybányán egy híres művésztelep működött. Az itt dolgozó művész kolónia a plein air kidologzásáról volt híres és itt festettek nap mint nap a magyar és román művészettörténet nagy nevei. Láttam műalkotásokat olyanoktól mint: Ferenczy Károly, Hollósy Simon, Czóbel Béla, Hans Mattis Teutsch, de megjegyeztem számomra újakat is, mint: Aurel Popp, Eugen Pascu, Mikola András, Ipolit Strambu and Ziffer Sándor. A múzeum tárlata igazán nagy, de legnagyobb meglepetésemre és sajnálatomra, gyűjteménye még ennél is nagyobb és éppen porosodik valahol...
On our way home we had time enough to stop by Almásgalgó, by the so-called Garden of the dragons. There is a lane leading all around the garden. The sun was setting, thus we only had the chance to grasp the scenery with a bird's eye view, just a 10 minutes' walk from the parking lot. One would think that these stone creatures are parts of the new wonders of the world. After a few thoughts and photographs, we set off to drive home.

Úton hazafelé megálltunk Almásgalgón, a Sárkányok kertjénél. Itt teljes útvonal van kiépítve a turisták számára, mely körbehálózza a kertet. Mivel a nap már lemenőben volt, így csak a kilátóból (mely 10 percre van a parkolótól) csodáltuk meg a látképet. Ilyen madártávlatból tekintve le, az ember azt is gondolhatná, hogy ezek a kőteremtmények a világ új csodái közé tartoznak. Néhány gondolat és kép készítése után, innen is hazaindultunk.
Ennyi is lenne mára és köszönöm, hogy mindenfele követitek kis ígéreteimet!:)

Oh wow those final views shared at the end of this travel diary are incredible - wishing I was there right now, for sure!! :)
